AGM  Postponed

The meeting scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday 7th February was cancelled due to illness. A new date will be arranged later.

Good morning,

I hope this finds you well.

My name is Kelly and I am currently completing a master’s degree course in publishing studies with Oxford Brookes University. For my final research project, I am investigating what the UK publishing industry is currently doing to support adults with dyslexia and exploring the changes that can be made in the future. The specific aims of my research are as follows:

  1. Identify the challenges for adult readers in the UK with dyslexia
  2. Evaluate critically the current strategies employed by UK publishers to target adult dyslexic readers
  3. Investigate the barriers and opportunities for the UK publishing industry to reaching adult readers with dyslexia
  4. Propose methods for the UK publishing industry to widen the accessibility of print titles for adult dyslexic readers

It’d be invaluable to my research if I could gather the thoughts and opinions of adults with dyslexia regarding how they view the publishing industry, their experience of reading for pleasure and what changes they would like to see in the future. I wonder whether you could assist me by asking any of your contacts if they would like to participate in a short telephone Q&A? The responses can be anonymised and no data will be shared beyond the bounds of the study.

I would really appreciate any assistance you are able to offer and hope to hear back from you soon.

Kind regards,

Kelly

Any volunteer participants should contact Kelly on this email address 16110615@brookes.ac.uk  with their contact details and a suitable time to call. I expect the call will last between 15 and 20 minutes.
